Physiological Response of Four Widely Cultivated Sunflower Cultivars to Cadmium Stress

Selection of sunflower varieties with greater cadmium (Cd) tolerance and detecting physiological variation under different Cd concentrations are important to study the potential (Helianthus annuus L.) in phytoremediation Cd. The aim this was investigate among four (79−79, 363, 8361, ADT). Photosynthesis determined using a Li−6400 XT portable photosynthesis system. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry used detect accumulation plant parts (leaf, stem root). Subsequently, amount per plant, bio−concentration factor (BCF), translocation (TF) were calculated. exposure caused decline varieties. 79−79 species displayed highest tissues 363 higher BCF aerial species. Under stress, total soluble sugars roots remained unaffected 363. Based on results experiment, cultivar more tolerant when compared other cultivars ADT 8361. present investigation indicate that can be further applied field trials practices contaminated soil.
